Our vineyards
We have a total of 18 hectares of vineyard in two places of the municipality of Algaida.
The vineyards of Son Reus, on the road that goes to the village from Pina, are near the great medieval possession that, after the conquest, gave name to these lands and that replaced Butibalausí, name that received the original Muslim farmhouse. The soil is clayey with an abundant percentage of iron oxide that gives it a coppery color that we call red callus.
Those of Son Roig, in the small estate of the same name, located in an idyllic landscape, are slightly undulating lands, surrounded by almond, carob and fig trees. Just in the shelter of the Randa and Son Roig mountains, with a calcareous and clayey soil.
Since the beginning of the project, the cultivation of the vineyards has been organic. That is to say, it is respectful of the agricultural cycles and the non-use of fertilizers and synthetic chemical products. From the pruning of the vines to the harvest, we carry out an exhaustive control of both the health of the plant and the quality of the clusters.
Organic farming
Organic agriculture promotes a crop in which the techniques are basically preventive, in which no chemical synthesis products are used, which alter the balance of microorganisms, insects and animals in nature and, above all, a crop that respects the natural rhythm of the plant and considers the interrelationships between the soil, the environment, living beings and the vineyard.
But the most important thing is that with this crop we have low yields, a high quality grape without residues and an optimal sanitary condition.
